Automatic Tracking Pedestal
The GTP-200 automatic tracking pedestal is designed to provide GPS based positioning of a high-gain antenna system to support realtime airborne video transmission requirements. The GTP-200 includes an outdoor housing designed to accommodate the PMR DR-200 Series digital video receiver (optional) and a 24 Vdc power supply. The control software runs on a personal computer (user supplied) with the capabilities of two RS-232 serial connections. One serial connection is for GPS position data from the remote aircraft and the second RS-232 serial connection is for GPS position data from a local receiver. GPS data is provided in the NMEA format to the PC controller. The pedestal is weatherproof and may be used in either temporary or permanent installations. The GTP-200 may be fitted with a variety of antennas from PMR, depending on the frequency of operation, polarity, and gain requirements of the system. The photo graph shows the GTP-200 with a 24” RHCP dish, high-gain omnidirectional antenna for diversity receive, two Yagi antennas for data communications, and the weatherproof box containing the DR-200 and 24 Vdc power supply.
